About Tom Vetter
Those who can, do.
Those who can’t, teach …
…or better still, write!
Tom Vetter has done both – living it first and then writing about it. He served two decades as a naval officer, operating submarines and deep submergence vehicles, sailing more than 100,000 miles on and undersea. Tom operated diesel and nuclear submarines during the Vietnam and Cold Wars, piloted the Navy’s bathyscaph TRIESTE II (DSV-1) and manned submersibles, mapped the wreckage of USS THRESHER, and found men, aircraft and shipwrecks on the seafloor on dives venturing deeper than 3 miles.
After several lives’ worth of adventure at sea, Tom retired from the Navy, and worked a second career in IT and telecommunications, building and running a successful IT architecture business for another decade before his wife’s declining health required another retirement.

Your Author, in his usual state.
Writing has become his third career. In the past year, Tom has written a memoir of his undersea adventures and the first book of a historical fiction series focused on the First Crusade. Tom lives with his wife in Virginia, and as care-giver duties permit, he writes every day.
